Grant criteria and guidelines

This document sets out how to apply for grants from The Tor-Rox Foundation CIO; the process for considering applications, and the terms and conditions applying to grants that are approved.

Any grant that The Tor-Rox Foundation makes must only be used to further or support its purposes, and for no other purpose. This means there will always be limits and conditions on what The Tor-Rox Foundation can financially support through grants.

Eligibility

Individuals who have a current cancer diagnosis are invited to make applications for funding for purposes that have a demonstrable beneficial impact for them in terms of benefitting/improving their physical and/or mental health.

Grants Available

The Tor-Rox Foundation Trustees will determine each financial year the total sum
available for grants – which in turn will be informed by the overall
accumulated surplus available in any year and the need to retain some funds as
a contingency against the risk of a poor year in terms of the fundraising
success of events.

The Trustees are not obliged to distribute the total sum earmarked for grants in any one year.

Trustees will also determine each year the maximum grant that is available for individuals.

In awarding grants, Trustees will be looking to support as many cancer patients as possible within the total sum available for grants – this may result in grant bids being offered to individuals which are less than the sums they applied for.

There will be grants available all year round and trustees will assess these on an individual and case by case assessment.

There is no limit to the number of applications that can be made by any individual
